Additional Funding for SC Head Start Programs

Additional Funding for SC Head Start Programs

SC Head Start Programs have received $10,727,269 in federal funding through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act. These funds will support Head Start services to Head Start eligible children under the age of 5 in South Carolina including summer learning virtual programs, technology and connectivity, telehealth programs and preparing classrooms and facilities for the new school year.

SC Head Start Programs are using this federal funding to provide a full range of comprehensive services to the extent possible, with a focus on preparing children for the coming school year, providing critical support to enrolled children and families, and safely resuming Head Start services and are currently recruiting children and families for fall enrollment. Contact the South Carolina Association of Community Action Partnerships, Inc. (SCACAP), and South Carolina Head Start Collaboration Office at (803) 898-2550.
